Lenten Program – Our Lenten Program is offered on Tuesday mornings at 11am and Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the Rector’s office.
Mothering Sunday is next Sunday, March 6th. We will be half way through Lent at the time and so we are having a ‘Bring and Share’ Potluck lunch following the service. Please bring along your favourite dish to share.
Kids shop only yard sale Saturday, March 5th from 8:30am – 12 Noon. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. There are previously loved toys, lego, colouring books, hundreds of books, puzzles, games etc. Fill a basket or box for $5 – everything must go.
Annual Easter Bunny Run We are collecting new items, stuffed animals, small toys, story books, crayons, colouring books, bubbles, yo-yo’s, board games, craft kits, jump ropes, card games, stickers, cars, planes, hair accessories, wrapped candy & chocolate, for boys and girls from toddlers to age 12 to hand out at the Surrey Food Bank the week before Easter. If shopping is a problem, or you would prefer to make a financial contribution, please speak to Judy Nicholson at 604-594-8562. A box will be placed at the back of the church for your donations. As always, your support is most appreciated.
A New Paschal Candle Stand and Acolyte Candles – We are looking at purchasing a new paschal candle stand to replace our old one and two new acolyte procession candles. If you are interested in giving these as a memorial or as a thanksgiving, please speak with our rector, Steve, right away.
World Day of Prayer – will take place on Friday, March 4, at 1pm, at Our Lady of Good Counsel (10460 139th Street). People of various faiths will gather in 170 countries and various communities across Canada to learn about, pray for, and celebrate Cuba. The theme is ‘Receive Children, Receive Me.’ Northwood United, Church of the Epiphany, and St. Helen’s will join OLGC and their children’s choir in the service. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments and fellowship to follow.
