Lenten Program – From the feedback it has been decided that the program will be offered on the days and times stated above in bold print. Please do come along to either.  Each session will have the same reflections and conversations.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join a group.  It is still possible to try to set up a third group if this particular timing does not work for you.  If you would like to do so, please speak with Father Steve.

Yard Sale Saturday, February 20th - If you have items you would like to donate please call or email to bring them along and set up a time to drop them off.  We need as many available hands to help set out the tables and staff the tables on the day.  This sale is to try to sell most of the remaining toys and equipment from the former Oak Avenue Childcare so we are trying to make the best of it by including other items.  If you have anything appropriate for a yard sale please consider donating it for the sale.

Notice - The Annual Vestry Meeting – will take place following the Eucharist on Sunday, February 28th to receive reports regarding the work of the parish as well as our financial statements; elect wardens and parish council and look to our future. There will be finger food and tea/coffee to quench our appetite and thirst.

An Intern for St. Helen’s Steve has been asked by the Executive Archdeacon, Douglas Fenton and Archdeacon Stephen Rowe to take an intern for the next number of months.  Some of you may have met Father Ayoub at the last picnic service.  He is the Iraqi Church priest and spiritual leader for this congregation which now worships at the Church of the Epiphany.  The Iraqi Church is in communion with the Roman Catholic Church and Father Ayoub is considering becoming an Anglican priest.  The internship will be a Sunday placement so that he may become immersed in the Anglican tradition and discern whether becoming an Anglican is where God is calling him.  Father Ayoub will take part in reading lessons, proclaiming the Gospel, leading the prayers of the people, and preaching from time to time.  In addition to Sunday, Steve will spend time with him regarding his formation as an Anglican.  He will begin with us next Sunday, February 21st.  We are sure St. Helen’s will make him very welcome during his stay with us.  Please keep Father Ayoub in your prayers.
