Holy Week (Palm Sunday to Easter) at St. Helen’s

April 9th – Palm Sunday   
10:00am - Procession of the Palms from Hall to the Church                    
Eucharist of the Passion  

Thursday, April 13th – Maundy Thursday    
6:00pm – Potluck Supper reflecting the Last Supper    
7:00pm – Institution of the Last Supper – Eucharist                        
               Foot washing and Reflection  

Friday, April 14th – Good Friday     
10am – Family Service – Stations of the Cross
                                    (about 45 minutes in length)     
11:00am – Good Friday Service                          
                 (with communion from the reserved sacrament)  

Saturday, April 15th – Holy Saturday     
6:30pm – Easter Vigil – Lighting of the New Fire,
               Blessing of the Paschal Candle, Eucharist followed by champagne and finger
               food to celebrate the resurrection 

Sunday, April 16th – Easter – The Day of Resurrection     
7:30am – A simple gathering to sings Hymns, Songs and Pray to welcome the Resurrection followed
               by breakfast in the church hall. We hope everyone stays for the 10am!     

10:00am – Festival Eucharist to Celebrate the Resurrection                        
                 Followed by Refreshments and Fellowship

Father Ayoob Adwar – On Sunday, March 26th, Father Ayoob’s priestly orders were received into the Anglican Church by Bishop Melissa.  There was a great turnout of support to Ayoob who has been with us for about a year in a liturgical placement to learn the ways of Anglican worship. We would like to give him a gift  from St Helen’s.  Those who would like to contribute, please put your gift in an envelope marked as ‘Gift to Fr Ayoob’ & place it in the offertory plate this week or next.  

Spring appears to be here, so once again it is time for a grounds clean-up.  We are looking for volunteers to come out and help on Sat. April 22 from 10am - 2pm.  The more hands the lighter the work. Even if you can only work for an hour every little bit helps.  Please bring your gardening tools and your smiles.  It will be a fun day and soothing to the soul.
