The Chaldean Congregation which worships at the Church of the Epiphany and for which Father Ayoob Adwar is the priest is having a special gathering on Sunday, April 3rd at Peace Arch Provincial Park. As you know Father Ayoob is doing an internship here at St. Helen’s as he discerns about becoming an Anglican Priest. He has invited us to join his congregation on this day after their service to take part in food and fellowship. The fellowship time is at 3pm which follows their outdoor service. They understand that we won’t be at the service but would like it if any of us could come and share in the fellowship time.
Refugee Committee for St. Helen’s – Our refugee committee has been in limo for some time. Now is the time for it to be given new life and re-energized. If you are interested in finding out more about the work of such a committee or are interested in serving on it, please speak to our rector, Steve or one of the wardens. We are still expecting Esther and her family to come from Burma, though we do not yet have a time frame for her arrival.
Grounds Keeping – You will have noticed that a great deal of work was done last week to clear away a lot of the debris from the winter wind storms. This is ongoing work and we need lots of people to help out. That means we need you! Please speak with Jean Robertson or with Roy Francis about giving a hand. It will be very much appreciated.
Thank you to Kristi Hendricks and to Brian Andrews who have said they will help with digging the cremation graves in our cemetery. It is good to have a team of people who can help one another with this kind of ministry.
Thank you to Chris Richards who has volunteered to take over keeping our road sign at 128 Street and Old Yale Road up to date with parish events. He takes over from Kelly Foulds who has done it for many years. Thank you Kelly for your dedication to this ministry!
