Our Advent Journey, helping others: Sunday,  December 11, White Gift Sunday

Please bring a special donation, separate from your Sunday offering to the work of the Church  -  place any amount you are able to give, in a plain white envelope - offer it by placing it in the collection plate at the time of the Offertory,  as your gift to the Surrey Food Bank. You might also like to give a non-perishable food item, again, wrap it in white paper and place it at the foot of the Altar - another gift for the Food Bank.  

The "idea" of a white gift is that it is a way to reflect on the love and devotion of the giver, not the value of the gift.

By giving a "white gift", all gifts are equal. 

CHRISTMAS LUNCH BUNCH 

Everyone is invited to enjoy a festive time of fellowship and lunch on Thursday, December 15, at 11:45am, in the Upper Hall.  The menu will include a variety of Chinese food dishes at a prepaid cost of $20.00.  Please confirm with Joan Hnedish that you will be attending and pay her by Sunday, December 11.  All are welcome

Prayer Requests to the Prayer Circle – please be in touch with Judy Nicholson who will receive and forward your prayer requests to the prayer circle.  If you do not have her contact details, please send an email to the office email address and it will be passed on to her for distribution.  

Altar Flowers – Please consider providing for the flowers placed on the Altar to the glory of God, in celebration, in thanksgiving, or in memory of loved ones.  The cost is usually in the $40 - $50 range for both vases. If you would like to make a donation of a lesser amount, we always appreciate any contributions! Contact Heather Herd for details.  You may make your donation by cheque made out to St. Helen's Anglican Church and send it in the mail or leave it in the offering plate on a Sunday or by Interac e-Transfer. The email address to transfer electronically is: giving2sthelen@gmail.com
