It may be hard to believe but Sunday, November 29th is the 1st Sunday of Advent.
The service sheet for this Sunday is attached below.
The latest edition of the 'Bells of St. Helen's Newsletter is also attached
The Morning Service at 10am - You are invited to join our Livestream service beginning at 10am with the blessing of the Advent Wreath and the lighting of the first candle of Advent - for hope. Advent is a time of preparation. We all may be wondering, 'preparing for what', of course, and it can be a huge worry in a worrisome time but we do sing 'O Come, O Come, Emmanuel'. As we sing these words we are reminded of our full expectation of God to come to us and to be with us to show us the way through this pandemic and shine a light on the path before us for all the years to come. Are you ready to make this journey? Are you ready to step out, metaphorically, that is, and walk with God into light? Consider yourself invited.
The Evening Service at 5pm- A Service of Light and Evening Prayer
For the four Sundays of Advent there will be an evening service which will be a reflective time with candlelight, readings, prayers, hymns and words to help us make a reflective journey through the season. Please do join us for the Livestream. If you are unable to join us for the livestream time, the service will remain on our Facebook page and be linked to this news page so you can participate as you are able.
Daily Morning Prayer - In addition to Sunday services, Morning Prayer is offered by livestream daily, Tuesday to Friday at 9:30am on our Facebook page. Please do join us.
The Mid-Week Conversation - Wednesday mornings on Zoom with a start time at around 10:15. Each week there is an online gathering to see how our week is going, a few minutes to touch upon the Gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday and share our thoughts about the things that matter to us. Everyone is welcome to join us. It is a time to catch up with one another and encourage each other. The link for the zoom meeting will be uploaded to the News page for that week. It will also be sent to the parish via the weekly e-mail blast. So bring a cup of tea or coffee to your computer, join to listen in or to contribute your voice too. We have had some lively conversations already which is good for our well-being and staying connected with one another. Just click the highlighted words:
